Adding photos, stories and firsts
Add photos, videos, voice notes and stories to your child's book, and edit them later.
Photos and videos
- Tap + and choose Photo or video, then pick one or more from your phone.
- With several, choose One post (all together, on one date) or Separate posts (one each, on the day it was taken).
- Add a description if you like, tag who's in it, and for a video choose its cover.
- Tap OK.
The date comes from the photo; tap it to change it. You can also share photos into 4D Ages from your gallery or another app.
Stories, firsts, lasts and milestones
Tap + and choose Story, First, Last or Milestone. Each lets you add:
- a title and an emoji,
- your words,
- the date (we show how old they were) and, if you like, the time,
- where it happened,
- photos, videos and a voice note,
- tags for people, events and places.
Voice notes
Tap +, then Voice note, then Tap to record. When you're happy, tap Use this recording. You can also choose an audio file. 4D Ages asks to use your microphone the first time.
Where was this?
If a photo knows where it was taken, 4D Ages suggests the town or neighbourhood, never the exact spot. Change it or clear it if you like.
Tags
Tag the people in a memory (add someone new with their name and relationship, like "Mummy" or "Savta"), and events, places or anything else. Tags help you find memories later, and decide what family members can see.
Find, edit or delete
- Home shows the newest first. Use search, Filter by tags, or the chips (Stories, Pictures, Firsts…) to find something.
- Tap the pencil on a post to edit it. You can fix a photo's date, caption, place and tags, or use it as their profile picture.
- To delete, open it, tap Edit and then Delete. This can't be undone.
Good to know
- A single file over about 45 MB isn't uploaded; big videos are made smaller first.
- Health notes never appear on Home or in books.
